Who's been to Prasek’s Family Smokehouse in El Campo?
Prasek's has been a staple of Texas BBQ and smoked meats for over four decades. Started by Mike Prasek in 1974, this family-owned business quickly became and to this day remains a go-to spot for smoked sausage, jerky, and kolaches. Like so many other great Texas eateries, they have made a name for themselves by blending Czech and German traditions with the bold flavors of Texas.
Prasek’s offers both classic BBQ items like brisket and ribs, as well as unique regional delicacies like their jalapeño cheese sausage (my favorite). Prasek’s has also expanded over the years, opening a second location in Sealy, TX, and continuing to serve handcrafted sausages and other staples.
Prasek’s has become a standout for maintaining its family-run roots while growing into a truly great spot for Texans who appreciate the melding of Czech influences with Texas BBQ traditions.
